Weighing in at just 2,449 lbs, Audi has crafted a super lightweight “Ultra” edition of its TT Quattro. The design is based on the current generation TT S Quattro and the concept sheds weight thanks to the use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer in the roof, hood, and rear end; a redesigned body structure; and a slew of detachable parts. A massive rear wing contributes to performance and a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder TFSI turbocharged engine provides 310 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque under the hood and is capable of a top speed of 174 mph and acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds. Further weight-reducing measures include the use of the R8 GT’s bucket seats coupled with a fiberglass-reinforced plastic chassis, compact cameras in place of exterior mirrors, ceramic disc brakes, and titanium exhaust pipes.
