Gartner praised the Microsoft Power BI offering for its alignment with Office 365, Teams and Azure Synapse, delivering tremendous market reach and speed. Such a comprehensive portfolio – including visual data discovery, enhanced analytics and interactive dashboards – demonstrates a comprehensive vision and ambition. In addition, the market analyst highlights the price and value of the Microsoft solution as an important differentiator.
Gartner Critical Capabilities For Analytics & Bi Platforms
After acquiring Tableau in 2019, Salesforce strengthened its position as a leader in the ABI space. The acquisition allows Salesforce to build an ecosystem that takes full advantage of MuleSoft, Tableau and Tableau CRM. In the report, Gartner praises Salesforce for its ease of use and analytics economy, as well as for enabling users “to more easily access their data, generate results, analyze and present it”.
2021 was a big year for Qlik as it acquired NodeGraph and Big Squid to add more capabilities to its extensive portfolio. Gartner praised these additions, citing ClickSense’s new machine learning and metadata management capabilities as differentiating strengths. Google has made impressive inroads into the ABI space since acquiring Looker in 2019. By integrating the ABI platform into the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, Gartner has praised Google for its ability to combine its power with other capabilities in its cloud stack. Its in-database architecture and management—along with application development resources—are also significant strengths. Still, the market analyst warns that advanced users will require knowledge of SQL.
Fanruan Recognized Again With Honorable Mention In The 2022 Gartner Magic Quadrant For Abi Platforms
According to Gartner, Domo has clearly gained momentum in the crowded space. The primary reasons cited are the vendor’s rapid pace of implementation and intense focus on consumer design, as the company benefits from the low-code/no-code revolution affecting the company’s technology choices. Still, Gartner notes that the company lags behind market leaders due to a lack of broad application ecosystem channels.
Visionaries in the Magic Quadrant represent high functionality in their areas of expertise, providing a clear, robust perspective for the modern ABI platform. Unfortunately, despite this thought leadership, they sometimes lack the comprehensive skills to implement ABI solutions at scale and consistently. This year’s visionaries are:
ThoughtSpot introduces a new “developer playground” in 2021, giving companies the tools to create innovative data apps. This is just one example of how the company is bringing its consumer-oriented vision to life and is widely recognized by Gartner in the report. Other well-known strengths include scalability and market recognition as an advanced analytics platform. At the same time, the research firm warns that ThoughtSpot does not have a comprehensive data and analysis ecosystem.
After recently rebranding its ABI offering as Sysense Fusion, Sysense has developed its vision – a vision recognized by Gartner. Such an approach relies on the vendor’s microservices-based architecture, which is fully scalable. The development of a unique “multipersona platform” is also a key strength. Still, the market analyst urges Sysense to build in areas other than manufacturing — setting it apart from leaders like Microsoft and Tableau.
What Is Business Intelligence? Turning Data Into Business Insights
By adding Cloud Coach and Code Innovate to its Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Oracle has worked hard to maximize the effectiveness of its platform to pave the way for co-innovation with customers. Such tools enable a user-centric product vision – for which Oracle receives special recognition in the report. The advanced analysis functions in their cloud offering also differentiate the solution. However, Gartner highlights its speed as a concern in a busy market.
In 2021, SAP has prioritized increasing the usability of its ABI solution, SAP Analytics Cloud. In doing so, it optimized the experience of users moving to their data warehouse cloud. Its success is perhaps most evident when Gartner praises the company for its advanced capabilities and closed-loop analytics, as well as “unparalleled” connectivity. Still, the research firm warns that the implementation of the SAP analytics cloud is low among companies that do not use SAP solutions elsewhere in the company.
Its machine learning and data democratization capabilities, advanced data preparation and predictive modeling have become key strengths of TIBCO software. Gartner noted this, praising the vendor’s cloud flexibility, enterprise readiness and roadmap for data and analytics convergence. Unfortunately, TIBCO software probably outperforms the market leaders in their product differences, such as: B. the inability to create automated data stories from automated information.
With the launch of SAS Viya 4 in 2021, SAS received special recognition from Gartner for its “market-leading” data visualization. The market analyst also notes that the vendor offers a “compelling product vision” for the creation, operation and management of AI-powered data science models and the preparation and visual analysis of data.
