For the BBC4 series Everything and Nothing, they put 7 grams of black powder into 1 ton of water for a series of slow-mo explosions and the result is something truly amazing.

One ton of water, 7g of black powder and a high speed camera with a macro lens combined to create these amazing explosions.

These are shots/ outakes from the BBC4 series I have just finished about the true nature of everything and the the science behind empty space. The series is called ‘Everything and Nothing’ and is presented by Professor Jim Al-Khalili. Everything will be screened on BBC4 at 9pm Monday the 21st March and Nothing on Monday the 28th.

The music is an unreleased track by the amazing Layland Kirby. The sound effects designed by the Flint Kids. Explosions and tank built by Mark and Mark at Aardvark FX.
