Who would’ve thought that taking a mental health and addiction disaster off the streets and thrusting world wide fame on him would possibly backfire?  Actually, ya that’s exactly what I expected.

Oh that fame.  Allowed it to take power over your life and suddenly your Lindsay Lohan’ing yourself about town.  If it can destroy people who had seemingly normal lives, what’s it going to do to a man without a home, an addiction problem, and nine children?  Is that really a question?  It stressed him to the point where he had to enter rehab and then to the point that he left it. And he had so many people rooting for him — an entire world captivated by his story.  He had something that no other homeless person had.  And he blew it.

Ted Williams checked himself out of Origins Recovery Center in South Texas, two weeks after entering the program for drug and alcohol dependency, and against medical advice. He wasted an opportunity to turn his life around – for free.
