It Might be Time to Stop Freaking Out About Plastic Water Bottles

Plastics are complicated compounds and do contain all sorts of scary sounding chemicals. The one getting the most headlines now is BPA, bisphenol-A. The latest studies have found that BPA may potentially affect the brain, behavior, and prostate glands in fetuses and infants. Wow! So are BPA and other toxins still used? The answer: Yes.
There you have it. BPA is a dangerous chemical if you get too much of it, but the amount in your water isn’t going to harm you. Hell, just about anything in our every day lives can be bad in excess. Watch the video and steer clear of the marketing propaganda. Maybe I can start using my old school Nalgenes without getting reprimanded every two seconds.
