Live in Indonesia and have some excess money to blow? Rent a tiger. Facing an endangered Sumatran tiger population and a lack of funding to help with conserving the population that remains Indonesia has decided to let wealthy individuals rent tigers. I’m sure most environmental groups would scoff at the prospect of renting an endangered animal, but Indonesia apparently thinks renting tigers out for a bit over $100k is a grand idea. Renters have to provide adequate housing and must allow visits from veterinarians, ministry officials, etc…
The tigers remain state property, hence the renting part and get this! Any offspring of the tigers also becomes state property. Does that mean you have to pay $100k a piece if they multiply? Regardless if I lived in Indonesia and I had $100k to blow, I would have one kick ass party. While I was at it I would probably rent a few midgets to ride the tigers.
